AMPLIFIERS, SPEAKERS & SUBS
Component and Coaxial
If you want your music to sound great, take a look at replacing your current car speakers. Dollar for dollar, it's one of the best ways to improve your car's sound. With good car speakers on board, you'll enjoy brighter highs and beefier lows. Plus, you'll probably hear details in your music that may have been missing before. Coaxial speakers are the most common speakers found in base model sound systems, and component speakers are found in most premium or hifi sound systems.
Comprised of a large woofer or mid-bass speaker and then one or more tweeter speakers they are designed to deliver the high frequency. They are a great "bang for the buck" speakers setup and will definitely make a large difference over the factory speakers but due to the placement of the tweeter directly over the woofer the sound waves can interfere with each other causing the speaker setup to lack in separation - an integral part of a truly hi fidelity sound system.
Use a superior speaker design to give you the best possible sound. A typical separates system includes 2 woofers, 2 tweeters, and 2 external crossovers — all of which are designed to work smoothly with one another. Generally, components are made of better materials than their two- or three-way counterparts. You can position the separate tweeters for optimal imaging. Given adequate power, separates deliver exceptional dynamics and detail.
Amplifiers - Power, Clarity & Excitement
If you want your music to be loud, amplifiers are definitely part of the picture. But whether you run your system wide open or softly enough for conversation, a power amplifier will breathe life into your music, bringing out all of its excitement and detail. Adding an amplifier gives you a clean power source that can drive your speakers without straining. Unlike an amplifier built into an in-dash stereo, an external power amp isn't limited by the space available and it can be designed without compromises. That means your music will sound cleaner and more defined at all volume levels.
Subwoofers - Feel Your Music
Subwoofers are speakers dedicated solely to reproducing low frequencies. No matter what kind of music you like, or how softly or loudly you like to listen, a quality sub can really improve your overall listening experience. Car speakers are small, so they have trouble producing enough low-frequency sound to give your music realism and depth. A subwoofer can make the difference between a good-sounding and a great-sounding system. There are a lot of different ways to add a subwoofer to your vehicle. Which subwoofers are right for you depends on a lot of different factors, including your musical tastes, budget, and how much space you have available in your vehicle.
